Our Team

As an internal marketing consultant, Sonja Alvarez helps connect agents and agencies to carriers from our portfolio of companies. She aims to help agencies and individual agents in growing their business by utilizing different tools and consulting with agents on best practices when working with insurance carriers. Being our first bilingual marketer, she will help Senior Market Sales® (SMS) connect with an even bigger market.

Sonja has over a decade of experience in the insurance agency with extensive sales experience in telecommunications. Within her career, she has also worked as a real estate broker in Puerto Rico’s commercial, industrial, and residential markets. Sonja has earned several accomplishments including the Motorola Mobility Latin America Trade Marketing Project, the AFLAC Headquarters Award Trip, the Florida Blue BCBS Premera Top Retention Agent, and being published by the Women Writers of Jacksonville WWFC.

Sonja is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and currently resides in Florida. She studied arts at the Pontifical Catholic University and graduated Magna Cum Laude at the Industrial Psychology Universities of Puerto Rico. When she’s not at work, she can be found crocheting, crafting, journaling, and gardening.
