Sherilyn was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska — the youngest of her two sisters and two brothers. In high school she participated in track and field. She was very competitive in long jump, and still has the girls record at Omaha Burke High School. She enjoys watching many sports, especially cheering on the Husker football team. Family time is very important to Sherilyn. When she is not working, she is especially devoted to spending time with her two children and her grandchildren. Attending their programs and events is a major highlight for her. Sherilyn enjoys shoe shopping, dining out and ‘ladies’ night out’ once a month. She also volunteers her time every year helping with two major jazz music festivals that take place at Omaha outdoor venues.
